Details of task: This assignment builds directly on and further develops the work undertaken for the first assessment task. This assessment task involves the preparation of an inquiry project that extends and deepens your investigation of a country-based education change/reform. You will be required to:

  • outline the background and context of the country case, providing information on the population demography, cultural and linguistic diversity, socio-economic and education indicators, etc.
  • clearly outline the nature and significance of this country-based educational change/reform
  • develop a coherent and persuasive argument in discussing the ways in which globalisation (global forces) are played out in this country-based educational change/reform, including the challenges for global citizens, workers and professionals.
  • critically engage with and synthesize the relevant academic literature in the development of your argument, including the 10 literatures used for the first assignment and others that extend your analysis
  • present the above elements in accordance with academic writing and referencing styles.

The criteria for marking include:

  • Clear outline the nature and significance of this country-based educational change / reform (10%)
  • Coherent and persuasive argument in discussing the ways in which globalisation (global forces) are played out in this country-based educational change/reform, including challenges for global citizens, workers and professionals (30%)
  • Critical engagement with the relevant academic literature in the development of your argument, you may include the articles used for the first assignment and others that extend your analysis (20%)
  • Clear, coherent and consistent development of argument (20%)
  • Systematic, accurate, professional presentation and APA-7 references (10%)
