In this task, you will be required to visit a building and construction project site (Class 1 to a max of two storeys, or Class 2 to 9, Type C) and develop a plan.

Part 1

Create a plan to implementadministermaintain and monitor site quality control.

When creating the plan, you must ensure that you capture:

  • The communication systems that will be utilised onsite
  • How systematic gathering of onsite information will be recorded
  • The critical elements of the Site Safety Plan used on the site

In the plan, ensure you capture the below details:

  • Project name & address
  • Date visited
  • Stage of project construction
  • Contact name and phone number of either Site Supervisor/Site Manager/Project Manager

Part 2

Develop a project inspection checklist template, that captures three (3) different trades.

e.g., Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Bricklayer, Plasterers etc.

You must complete this assessment task on your own and are not to work in groups. It must be your own work.

In this task, you will be required to visit a building and construction project site (Class 1 to a max of two storeys, or Class 2 to 9, Type C) and complete an Inspection Checklist. You will also be required to create a rectification plan. 

Part 1

Visit one (1) building project (as detailed above) and complete an Inspection Checklist of construction works to date on the building site.

The checklist must be clear, detailed with no ambiguity, relevant to good building practice, codes and standards.

Reference should be made to relevant codes and standards, and organisational quality manuals/procedures.

The checklist will need to include all of the following information:

  1. Areas of inspection - Internal External
  2. A completed checklist detailing specific items
  3. Photos of defects where possible
  4. Details of any local authority inspections to follow

For this task, ensure you capture:

  • Project name & address
  • Date visited
  • Stage of project construction
  • Contact name and phone number of either Site Supervisor/Site Manager/Project Manager

Part 2

Using the Inspection Checklist from Part 1 above, you are required to create a rectification plan. This plan must outline:

  1. What must be rectified (if there are no rectification required, speak to your trainer who will provide you with hypothetical defects).
  2. Why these things must be rectified (be sure to refer to the appropriate standard, code, or plan specification)
  3. In what order the rectifications should be completed
  4. The expected time to complete each rectification, and when they are expected to be rectified by
  5. Who will carry the rectification out, and how they will be notified?
  6. Will the rectification work affect any work remaining on the schedule, and if it does, who needs to be notified?
